Rasmussen: Obama Up By 6

By  |

Obama – 51%
McCain – 45%

Obama adds one today and he matches his highest number since Rasmussen started polling his matchup with McCain in June.

Also, Obama has been at 50% or better for 5 straight days and has hit that mark 12 times. On the other hand McCain has only hit 50% once. But this stretch for Obama represents the longest he has hit and held the mark.

One reason for this? Obama’s performance at the debate has driven his positives up and his negatives down…

Obama is now viewed favorably by 58% of voters, McCain by 55%.

However, 40% have a Very Favorable opinion of Obama while 26% have a Very Unfavorable view.

The comparable numbers for McCain are 26% Very Favorable and 24% Very Unfavorable.

Enthusiasm matters in this campaign, and McCain only has it from his base.

The 5 day:
09/30/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 51%
09/29/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 50%
09/28/2008: McCain – 44%, Obama – 50%
09/27/2008: McCain – 44%, Obama – 50%
09/26/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 50%
