Miami’s Best of the Best 2010 concert to feature Diddy and Gucci Mane
Diddy is hosting what is shaping up to be a huge Memorial Day Hip Hop and Reggae concert at Miami’s Bicentennial Park on May 30. Combs will be joined by Miami’s DJ Khaled and, according to organizers, Atlanta’s Gucci Mane, who will be making his first major live appearance since a stint in jail for parole violations.
The complete lineup of the Best of the Best 2010 Concert right now is:
Diddy & Friends
DJ Khaled & Friends
Rick Ross and Magazeen
Diddy (Sean Combs), is an industry giant with his hands in everything from movies to clothing. His participation here puts it on the map in a big way, for an event that typically draws up to 50,000 people.
Gucci Mane, who has had numerous legal issues over the years, was jailed in late 2009 on a parole violation, but is picking up where he left off. He’s remained one of the hottest MCs in hip-hop solely off his multitude of underground songs released on mix tapes. Last year saw him break through from the streets to the mainstream, appearing on tracks for the Black Eyed Peas, Mario, Omarion, Mariah Carey and even a 50 Cent song. One of his recent singles, “Spotlight” featured Usher, which had followed on the heels of “Wasted,” featuring Plies.
DJ Khaled is a radio host for the Miami-based urban music radio station WEDR and the DJ for the hip hop group Terror Squad. In 2006, Khaled released his debut album “Listennn… the Album.” In 2009, Khaled became the president of record label Def Jam South.
