Disturbed’s David Draiman Defends Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe
That kid, named Daniel, died two weeks later, it is alleged.
Randy is no longer in jail, after promising to post his annual salary in bail Monday morning. That’s $250,000 U.S. dollars. This, of course, is amazing news, considering the kid’s family’s probably just trying to cash in. I mean, two years go by and no word about these charges at all. And dude walks off a plane, and they throw cuffs.
Now that Randy’s out, Disturbed’s David Draiman has come to his defense.
“HE DIDN’T ‘SLAUGHTER’ ANYONE,” writes Draiman online. He always uses CAPS, and I’m too lazy to un-CAPS him.
“THE KID JUMPED ON STAGE AND STARTED A BRAWL, AND RANDY DEFENDED HIMSELF,” Draiman says. “THAT HIS LIFE WAS LOST IN THE PROCESS IS TRULY UNFORTUNATE, BUT, RANDY IS MY FRIEND AND HE’S NO MURDERER; I FEEL FOR THE CHILD AND FOR THE FAMILY AND FOR RANDY, BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT EVER SINCE DIMEBAG DARRYL WAS ASSAULTED, SHOT, AND MURDERED ON STAGE BY A ‘FAN,’ ALL OF US HAVE BEEN VERY DEFENSIVE/CAUTIOUS OF ANYONE JUMPING UP ON STAGE.”
“I’M NOT SAYING THAT IT’S OK, OR JUSTIFIED, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. ONLY THAT IT’S AN UNFORTUNATE/TRAGIC SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES–AND THAT I KNOW RANDY’S INTENTION WAS NOT TO KILL THE KID. THAT’S MY OPINION. I’VE HEARD YOURS. THAT IS ALL.”
