SIFF approaches, last time to save
The fine city of Seattle offers so many wonderful cultural events and activites. One of the gems that really delivers a fine pop culture experience is the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF). It begins May 16th and runs through the first week of June. Last year they presented more than 150 films that played in 15 venues including theatres in Everett, Seattle, and Renton.
If you are new to Seattle, or just never particiapted now is the final week to pick up some festival passes for less than what they go for during the event (March 18th passes go up in price). If you miss the deal, the tickets are still a good value at their regular prices and you can browse the many packages on the Siff.net website.
For the past 38 years, the Seattle International Film Festival has brought the world’s best films to Seattle, hosted star-studded galas and parties, and offered an array of forums, workshops, and in-depth discussions with international filmmakers and artists. They are now located down near the Seattle Space Needle across the the fountain where they offer year round screenings, and events/activites for all ages. For a list of year round events click here.
For the upcoming Film Festival, one of the biggest in the world (Yes – here in Seattle!) they will be offering many ticket packages. If you plan on going to see a few films you might want to pick up a some passes early and save yourself some cash. Also, a really fun night on the town is their Opening Night Gala. I have attended the past few years and have had a wonderful time. Right now tickets for that are $45, which includes the movie, hors d’ ouvres, two drink vouchers, music, and mingling with all sorts of interesting film creators and film fans. There is also a Red Carpet Experience pass, check it out if you want the VIP treatment. It’s a Gala, so dress to impress.
Stay tuned to CultureMob as we will be providing coverage of the festival which begins opening night, Thursday, May 16th.
