“Happy Tears”

Demi Moore and Parker Posey star in a family drama about two sisters who have the first mission impossible to do with a man, their dad. With papa Joe being over seventy years old Laura (Moore) thinks it’s time to arrange special care for him and calls Jayne (Posey) to come out to their old house so they can make realistic plans for his future. But Jayne is a bit naïve about his condition and it takes her a while to understand the true situation. Mean while, Joe has a young beautiful girlfriend who seems good for him and keeps him lively with her shameless and sassy spirit. The circumstances force the two sisters to take a closer look at their lives which seem s to be far from perfect ,while trying to avoid childhood memories, except for one: the secret treasure supposedly buried in the back yard. As Joe’s senile condition escalates so do the family dynamics between the three for Laura and Jayne must continue handling their own family issues- Jayne, desperately trying to have a baby with her workaholic husband, and Laura as a mother of two small kids and a busy environmentalist. The differences between their two very different lives bring out the tensions, after all- every family has it’s issues.
