“The Last Song”

A Film adaptation to the novel by the same name, starring teen star Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana). Miley is 17 year-old Veronica, a rebellious daughter to her parents who had divorced 3 years earlier, a event which turns her world upside-down. Veronica’s mother decides to send her away to spend the summer with her estranged father Steve, to whom she had stayed alienated and angry ever since the divorce. He lives in Tybee Island, Georgia, a small Southern beach town, therefore not a great attraction for the New York teenager. Steve finds that reconnecting to his daughter is a tough mission and that there is salvation in the only thing they have in common- music (Steve is a former pianist and teacher, working on centerpiece for the local church). The summer story unfolds the tales of second chances; first love, secrets, friendships and above all the family relationships that can break our hearts and then put them back together.
