How about an original looking phone ? The Nokia 7705 “Twist” would be your choice if you like to be different. This phone is small and has a uniqe way of displaying the manual keyboard underneath. Take a look at the features of this phone here in this short article.

When you take this out of your pocket, your friends and enemies will not think it is a phone. This phone is square. It measures 2.71 inches by 2.71 inches by 0.59 inch. That is 6.8 centimeters by 6.8 centimeters by 1.5 centimeters. It is a good thing the corners are given some rounding or it would look like a block with a screen on it. It only weighs 3.44 ounces ( or 97.5 grams ). It goes in your pocket with ease and many phones weigh nearly two ounces more than this one by Nokia.

This phone is designed for fun times. The cost reflects this as the price is just $100 dollars after a rebate. What do you get for your money ? Besides the originality, you get a three megapixel camera that also takes video. The camera comes with LED flash, autofocus, and a timer. You get a mirror on the back for your convenience. The manual keyboard ( there is no touchscreen) is QWERTY and not hard to use if you have larger than average fingers. There is a new device called a “contact light ring”. It is designed to blink when you get a message from those contacts you assign it to. It is large indicator and located on the front under the screen.

The screen has plenty of color, 262,144 colors to be exact. The resolution is rated at QVGA with 320 by 240 pixels. The size of the display is 2.4 inches measured diagonally. That is 6.1 centimeters. As for the “twist” part of the Nokia 7705 Twist, Nokia got the position right this time. The post that does the rotating is located in a corner, and not nearer to the middle as in times past. This makes the keyboard fully open to see and use. This phone is going to be pretty much used for texting and talking. It does have a web browser, albeit a strange one. The “Infraware Polaris 6.1″ is the included browser. The screen is not big enough for serious use of it.

For socialness, this Nokia 7705 Twist has email from Yahoo, AOL, Windows Live and Verizon. Instant messaging support is under AOL, Windows Live and Yahoo also. You are given fifteen different text messaging templates. There is a music player that plays MP3 and AAC files. One negative is the headphone jack is the 2.5 millimeter size, not the regular 3.5. The battery is smallish and only has 860 milliamp hours ( mAh ) of juice. The battery cover comes in different colors if you want more originality.

This phone has limited internal memory but there is a MicroSD card slot for this weakness. You will get connected on the Verizon carrier using CDMA networks and you can use EVDO networks for high speed data.
