“Jealous Guy” Gets A Soulful Version By Casey James On American Idol

It’s season 9 for the successful show “American Idol” and as part of keeping it interesting the contestants had a “Beatles” week, in which they had the choice of performing one of the historical band’s songs or solo pieces of Lennon or McCartney.

The singers all received a video message from Paul McCartney wishing them luck. We had the honor of hearing “Across The Universe”, Come Together” and more, and also Casey James’s choice of “Jealous Guy”, which is a John Lennon song. Casey is one of the competitors who got a good review from the judges, such as: “Soulful” from Ellen, “Tasteful and deep” from Kara and even Simon described the performance no less as the best one of the night.

It’s funny how the show has an enormous effect on the people searching for the lyrics on the Internet. Many were looking for the “Jealous Guy” lyrics today. The song was written and performed by John Lennon, and appeared in the “Imagine” album. Funnily enough the song has at least 92 recorded cover versions to it, as the most famous one is that made by “Roxy Music”. Other artists who had covered the song: Lou Reed, and The Black Crowes.
