Dixie Carter Died At The Age Of 70
Actress Dixie Carter died at the age of 70.
Publicist of both Dixie Carter and her husband had announced her death with out any further information concerning the circumstances related to the event. The actor Hal Holbrook, Carter’s third husband asked the public to be sensitive and to understand the privacy of the family’s tragedy.
Carter, who had been an actress appearing in movies and TV shows, was best known for her role in the CBS sitcom “Designing Women”. The show ran between the years 1986 to 1993, and Carter played the role of Julia Sugarbaker. As a native of Tennessee, most of her roles were of rich, arrogant independent women. In 2007 she was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a comedy Series in the Emmy Award, for a part in “Desperate Housewives”. Other of Carter’s roles include the soap opera’s and series: “One Life To Live”,“The Edge Of The Night”, “Family Law”, “Out Of The Blue”, “On Our Own” and “Different Strokes”.
