The New Microsoft Kin Phones Out In May

Next month the two new phones Kin One and Kin Two by Microsoft will be launched, while the Europe release is set for autumn 2010. These new devices, designed by Microsoft and manufactured by Sharp, are aimed towards the 15-30-year-old users who communicate and share through social networks such as Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace etc. Fitting this function, the interface is built with a specification for sharing (pictures, videos), music, status updating and local search. Robbie Bach, the boss of Microsoft described the new phones as “couture software with hardware that is costume fit”, as he was quoted in the BBC NEWS site.

Both phones have a slide-out Qwerty keyboard, but as the Kin One has a 2.6 inch display and a 5 megapixel camera, the Kin Two has a 3.6 inch display and an 8 megapixel camera.

Some of the phone’s features: sharing is done by an automatic connection made by the phone as you drag the objects you want to share and the contacts you want to share them with to one spot on the display.

One touch is all you need in order to update your status in multiple sites.

The Zune music player (which also has a Zune Marketplace) will enable you to listen and watch your favorite contents.

It will be interesting to see how the Kin matches Microsoft’s effort to draw back some market share in the ever growing rewarding mobile market.
