Cell Phone Reviews: Nokia 6730 Classic
Sometimes a new Nokia model replaces an older model that many people like and it gets called a “classic”. That is what happened to the Nokia 6730 “Classic”. For those who liked their Nokia 6500c or 6300, you have a better version out now. Take a look at the replacement and see if it does not exceed your desires.
The Nokia 6730 Classic phone, especially the white version, looks really attractive. It is a candybar format, but comes with a screen a bit larger than other phones of this format. The only problem is that you need to use the Vodafone network to be able to use it.
The screen is a regular size for many phones that are higher priced than the Nokia 6730. It is rated at 240 by 320 pixels. It is 2.2 inches when measured diagonally. That is 5.6 centimeters for those not in the United States. It is exceptionally clear with its sixteen million color visual ability. That is in the top of the class for pretty much any mobile device for color clarity. It is not a touch screen, but this phone is created to sell in the lower price ranges.
The inside workings of the Nokia 6730 Classic are run by the Symbian S60 operating system. This phone sports the 3.2 version of Symbian. Symbian is the most popular operating system for mobiles, even more popular than iPhones. Some of things included are a turn by turn direction service, a point of interest database, yellow pages, mobile internet and other navigation services. Since this phone is only sold through Vodafone they have provided it with the Vodafone Music Client as well as work and play ( business and personal ) email. The phone is designed to save battery power for longer times between charges.
The camera takes relatively nice photos. It has a rating of 3.2 megapixels and has enhanced focus. It can take video at an unimpressive fifteen frames per second. Many phones have twice that quality in terms of speed, but remember this phone is an inexpensive one. It supports video call features, so you can get a video when one of your contacts wants to talk. If you need a radio, the FM radio ( with RDS ) is included on the Nokia 6730 Classic. The 2.5 millimeter jack gives a little privacy to your calls and music.
The Nokia 6730 operates in the quad band GSM ( 2G ) networks and for 3G it uses dual band HSDPA. Data networks are all there except for a WLAN ( Wi-Fi ). Nokia smartly includes a Micro USB cable connection for your other digital devices. If you want to add the the 48 megabytes of memory that the 6730 has, it features a MicroSD card slot that can accept up to sixteen gigabytes more. The processor runs at a very respectable 600 megahertz. Nokia is nice enough to provide a one gigabyte SD card in the box.
