Brittany Murphy has died, reported by LA’s ABC associate KABC-TV.
The 32-year-old actress entered full cardiopulmonary arrest, a representative for the Los Angeles County medical examiner office told the station today.
The Los Angeles Fire Department stated they accepted a 911 call at 8 o’clock this morning from a house in Los Angeles that belonged to Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack.
Devin Gales, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department told ABC News, “We responded to an emergency call. We transported one patient from that location to a local hospital.”
The star of “Clueless” and “8 Mile” was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center shortly after 8 a.m. and she was pronounced dead on arrival, according to KABC-TV.
In a statement from Murphy’s publiciser, Nicole Perna tells ABC News, “In this time of sadness, the family thanks everyone for their love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”
Murphy got her 1st job in Hollywood at the age of fourteen, when she starred as Brenda Drexell in the series “Drexel’s Class.”
She then advanced to guest star on TV series such as “Blossom” and “Frasier.”
Among her most famous characters was in “Clueless,” in which she starred opposite Alicia Silverstone as the lively, yet inexperienced high school student Tai Frasier anxious for a makeover.
She also co-starred with Angelina Jolie in “Girl, Interrupted” and Eminem in “8 Mile.”
Most lately she starred in the romantic comedy “Little Black Book” and “Sin City.” Lifetime cast her in a TV movie in 2009 where she played the main character in “Tribute.”
She also dabbled in music. In 2006, Murphy teamed up with the world-famous DJ Paul Oakenfold. The pair released a single “Faster Kill Pussycat” which became a club hit and hit number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart.
