Fan Runs Into The Phillies Game – Not Tasered This Time
A second incident of a fan running in to the Citizens Bank Park field, at a game between the Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals.
On Monday night’s game, the 17-year-old fan Steve Consalvi, ran into the game field and after a few rounds in the outfield, while waving a white towel and managing to avoid two security officers, he was hit by a stun gun by a police officer. This was not the case in Tuesday night’s game, as the 34-year-old fan decided to give him self up without getting the drama package of his predecessor. It seems as if he realized that he shouldn’t mess with the law, even if it’s a sport event.
Now the police and the team are investigating the way the policeman handled the event, and whether the use of a Taser gun is appropriate in a sport game. As for now, officers are allowed to use Tasers in order to arrest fleeing suspects. Anyway, the teenager will be charged with criminal trespass and related offences. It’s not the first time an officer has used a stunt gun, see the case of last year’s game of A’s playing in Oakland.
