The 2010 Tony Nominations Published
Yesterday, Tuesday May 4th the nominees for the Tony Awards were announced, as the top slots are all taken by the musicals “Fela!” and “La Cage aux Folles”
The Tony is short for Antoinette Perry Awards for Excellence in Theatre. The nominations recognize top productions, performances, and work to do with Broadway shows. The ceremony will be held for the 64th time this year, including productions that were made from 2009-2010. The Tony will be broadcasted on TV by CBS from Radio City Music Hall, on Sunday, June 13, 2010. As always it will be presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

Best Play: Next Fall, Time Stands Still, In The next Room or The Vibrator Play, Red
Best Lead Actor Musical: Sean Hayes (Promises, Promises), Douglas Hodge (La Cage), Kelsey Grammer (La Cage), Chad Kimball (Memphis), Sahr Ngaujah (Fela!)
Best Lead Actress Musical: Montego Glover (Memphis), Kate Baldwin (Finian’s Rainbow), Catherine Zeta-Jones (A Little Night Music), Christiane Noll (Ragtime), Sherie Rene Scott (Everyday Rapture)
Best Lead Actor In Play: Christopher Walken (A Behanding), Alfred Molina (Red), Jude Law (Hamlet), Live Schreiber (A View From The Bridge), Denzel Washington (Fences)
Best Lead Actress Play: Laura Linney (Time Stands Still), Viola Davis (Fences), Valerie Harper (Looped), Linda Lavin (Collected Stories), Jan Maxwell (The Royal Family)
Best Musical: Fela!, Million Dollar Quartet, American Idiot, Memphis
