Iron Man 2 vs. Sex and the City 2 – Two Movies Based On Battle Of The Sexes?
Two 2008 follow up sequels are out this May and are set to become a big early summer season hits with Iron Man already pulling in $52 million on its opening day. What about Sex and the City 2?
On one masculine side, Iron Man ® 2 represents the ultra manly way of life. This kind of lifestyle is associated with anything high-tech, advanced weapons, waging war against the government to conquer the world, and anything extreme action-oriented.
Iron Man® 2 represents the masculine super hero that humanity hopes for. Along the lines of Batman, Super Man, Spider Man, and others, why are the super heroes mostly men? Can a woman lead and conquer the world to establish peace?
On the feminine side, Sex and the City® 2 represents modern sophisticated women. More glamour, romance/love, and friendship bonding – fashion shopping, gossip, and sticking up for one another. Is this chick-flick about empowering women? Unlike Iron Man® 2, Sex and the City® do not need flashy special effects to entertainment. Perhaps men are more visual oriented while women are more contextual-oriented? Who knows?
The big question – will you be seeing both movies this summer? Do you want to unleash both your masculine and feminine side? Or, do you represent neither but one within yourself? Now that’s another philosophical question…
