What is the Difference Between the iPhone and the iPad
If you have seen both the iPhone and the iPad device, then you will probably have thought to yourself that they look almost exactly the same. If you have indeed thought this to yourself, then you have probably also found yourself thinking, “What can the iPad do that the iPhone cant and what is the difference between them?”. Well, we’ve been wondering this even if you haven’t so here are some of the biggest differences between the two devices.
The biggest difference we can see is one that we have already mentioned; the size of the device. The iPhone is tiny when compared to the iPad, even if it may look the same. The iPhone will fit in the palm of your hand neatly whereas the iPad will require the hands of a monster if you want this to be true. Of course, it is bigger for a reason and it makes it much better for certain things like watching movies and typing using the on screen keyboard, however, it also makes it less easy to take with you and you will not be able to simply slip it in your pocket like with the iPhone.
Another key difference is the processing power of the two devices. Depending on which iPhone you have, the processing power will be different. Apple has just released the iPhone 4 device which is the most powerful iPhone to be released by still; the iPad is much more powerful and has a more powerful processor. If you have the iPhone 3G or 3GS then the difference in power between the two devices is even greater with the iPad winning whatever the situation.
One other difference between the two devices is pretty obvious. This is the fact that the iPhone is able to make phone calls whereas the iPad doesn’t have this ability. Of course, you could simply use Skype on the iPad and then you would be able to use the device as a phone if you really wished, but you might look pretty silly holding up a 9.7 inch screen to your face. If you want convenience, then stick with the iPhone when it comes to making calls.
Overall, there are hundreds of differences between the two devices, most of them are clear at the first glance, however, there are many smaller features of each device that will become known when you use them both for a while
