Johnson, 46, played his last season with the San Francisco Giants, and became a free agent when the season ended. during his 21 year career Johnson played for 6 teams: Montreal Expos (1988–1989), Seattle Mariners (1989–1998), Houston Astros (1998) , Arizona Diamondbacks (1999–2004), New York Yankees (2005–2006), Arizona Diamondbacks (2007–2008) , San Francisco Giants (2009).
.”The big unit”, as Johnson is nicknamed, was one of the most dominate and feared pitcher in the major leagues. His left arm delivered 100 miles per hour fastballs and deadly sliders. He will end his career with a 303-166 win loss record and 4,875 strikeouts, second-only to Nolan Ryan.
