Intel in plans to buy McAfee
Intel are one of the biggest computing manufacturers out there and for many years they have manufactured some of the best and most powerful processors out there, as well as many other things for other devices. Now, Intel are said to want to boost the amount of security they offer and they are planning on buying the company McAfee.
The company is planning on buying the company which produces some of the best security software out there for $7.68 billion. This price is equal to around $48 per share and this is a lot higher than the share price of McAfee currently stands at. The share price for the company closed at just under $30 on Wednesday which means that Intel plans to pay 60% more than the company is currently worth on the stock market.
Intel said that they have realised that security is now one of the most important things that they need to consider in terms of online computing. The company is doing its best to boost what they offer in the area of security and buying McAfee is going to be a huge investment for them.
So far, it seems that the deal has been approved by the board of directors too, so it looks like Intel will soon be the new owners.
