Taliban to Target Pakistan Aid Worker

The United States is said to have received intelligence that the Taliban plans to target the Pakistan Aid workers in their latest attack. The aid workers which are currently helping to clean up the country after some of the worst floods in decades could be at risk from these attacks.

The militant group said that the presence of the foreign workers in the country was not acceptable but the United Nation has said that it won’t be deterred by the violent threats and will continue to help the country. There has been a past of the Taliban attacking aid workers in the country and the fear is that they could do it again. As well as being even more devastating to the country, any attack on the aid workers would complicate the relief efforts in the country even more and mean that help could be compromised.

The relief efforts in the country are already struggling to help the 8 million people that have been affected by the floods and any attack would mean even less people would be able to be helped. At least 800,000 people still need help in the country and the threat of these attacks is being taken seriously.
