“Edge Of Darkness” trailer – A film Adaptation To BBC Series Starring Mel Gibson
“Edge of Darkness”
The only daughter of Single father and veteran homicide detective Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is murdered on his doorstep. While all suspicions are laid on the premise that the bullets were made for him, Craven decides to start investigating and is surprised to find out about his activist daughter’s secret life. The story follows his dangerous investigation as he uncovers political cover-ups, conspiracies and murder. Furthermore, in his search for the truth he is led by his findings to Darious Jedburgh (Ray Winstone, The Departed), a dark government worker who had apparently been sent to cover up the evidences. His Mission to find the answers to his daughter Emma’s death (featuring Bojana Novakovic, Everything Goes) soon turns into his own way of redemption and personal findings.
The film is a cinematic adaption to the 6 episodes mini series that was broadcasted on BBC in 1985. The script mixed a political thriller with a crime-drama and the idea was heavily influenced by the political climate in England in those years.
